Le Brignon is a French municipality with 601 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Le Puy-en-Velay and the canton Velay volcanique (until 2015: Canton Solignac-sur-Loire ). The inhabitants are called Brignonais .

Le Brignon is located about eleven kilometers south of Le Puy-en-Velay in the Massif Central on the Loire , which largely forms the eastern municipal boundary. Le Brignon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Solignac-sur-Loire in the north, Chadron in the northeast, Saint-Martin-de-Fugères in the east, Goudet in the southeast, Arlempdes in the south and southeast, Landos in the south and southwest, Costaros in the west and southwest as well as Cayres to the west.

Route nationale 88 runs along the western edge of the municipality .
