Barges is located about 24 kilometers south of Le Puy-en-Velay in the Massif Central . Barges is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Arlempdes in the north, Saint-Arcons-de-Barges in the east, Saint-Paul-de-Tartas in the south and Landos in the west and northwest.
