Lafarre is a French municipality with 72 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Le Puy-en-Velay and the canton Velay volcanique (until 2015 Pradelles ).

Lafarre is located about 25 kilometers south-southeast of Le Puy-en-Velay in the Massif Central on the Loire , which borders the municipality in the north. Lafarre is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Salettes in the north, Issarlès in the east, Lachapelle-Graillouse in the south and south-east, Coucouron in the south-west, Saint-Arcons-de-Barges and Vielprat in the west and north-west.
