geography
Espaly-Saint-Marcel is located on the Borne River and is a banlieue to the west of Le Puy-en-Velay . Espaly-Saint-Marcel is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Polignac in the north, Le Puy-en-Velay in the east, Vals-près-le-Puy in the south, Ceyssac in the west and Sanssac-l'Église in the north-west.
The National Route 102 runs through the municipality .
