Costaros is a French municipality with 544 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Le Puy-en-Velay and the canton Velay volcanique (until 2015 Cayres ). The inhabitants are called Costa Ossia .

Costaros is located about seventeen kilometers south-southwest of Le Puy-en-Velay in the Massif Central . Costaros is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cayres in the north and west, Le Brignon in the north and east and Landos in the south.
