Borne is about 13 kilometers northwest of Le Puy-en-Velay on the river of the same name ( Borne ). Borne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Paulien in the north and east, Saint-Vidal in the south and southeast and Loudes in the west.

The National Route 102 runs through the municipality .
