Saint-Vidal is a French municipality with 603 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Le Puy-en-Velay and the canton of Saint-Paulien ( canton Loudes until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called Valladiers .

Saint-Vidal is about ten kilometers west-northwest of Le Puy-en-Velay . Saint-Vidal is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Borne in the north, Saint-Paulien in the north-east, Polignac in the east, Sanssac-l'Église in the south, Chaspuzac in the west and south-west and Loudes in the north-west.
