Saint-Paul-de-Tartas is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Barges in the north, Saint-Arcons-de-Barges in the north and northeast, Coucouron in the east, Lavillatte in the southeast, Lespéron and Pradelles in the south, and Saint-Étienne-du-Vigan in the West and south-west and Landos in the north-west.
