Varennes-Saint-Honorat is located about 29 kilometers northeast of Le Puy-en-Velay in the natural landscape of Emblavès (also spelled Emblavez ). The neighboring communities of Varennes-Saint-Honorat are Josat in the north and north-west, La Chapelle-Bertin in the north, Allègre in the east, Fix-Saint-Geneys in the south and south-east, Sainte-Eugénie-de-Villeneuve in the south and Jax in the west.
