Champclause is located about 23 kilometers east-southeast of Le Puy-en-Velay . Champclause is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Araules in the north, Mazet-Saint-Voy in the east and northeast, Fay-sur-Lignon in the southeast, Saint-Front in the south, Montusclat in the south and southwest, Saint-Julien-Chapteuil in the west and Queyrières in the Northwest.
