Aiguilhe ( Occitan : Agulha ) is a French municipality with 1511 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Le Puy-en-Velay and the canton Le Puy-en-Velay-2 (until 2015: canton Le Puy-en-Velay-Nord ).

Aiguilhe is a banlieue of Le Puy-en-Velay and is located on the Borne River , a tributary of the Loire . Aiguilhe is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Polignac in the north, Chadrac in the east and northeast, Le Puy-en-Velay in the south and Espaly-Saint-Marcel in the west and southwest.

The Via Podiensis , a variant of the Way of St. James , runs through the municipality .
