Saint-Haon is a French commune of 300 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Le Puy-en-Velay and the canton Velay volcanique (until 2015 Pradelles ).

geography

Saint-Haon is located about nineteen kilometers south-southwest of Le Puy-en-Velay in the Massif Central and on the Allier , which borders the municipality to the west. Saint-Haon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ouides in the north, Le Bouchet-Saint-Nicolas in the east and northeast, Landos in the east and southeast, Rauret in the south, Saint-Bonnet-de-Montauroux in the southwest and Saint-Christophe-d'Allier in the north-west.

Route nationale 88 runs along the western edge of the municipality .
