Rauret is a French municipality with 195 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Le Puy-en-Velay and the canton Velay volcanique (until 2015 Pradelles ).

Rauret is located about 25 kilometers south-southwest of Le Puy-en-Velay in the Massif Central on the Allier , which borders the municipality to the west. Rauret is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Haon in the north, Landos in the north and northeast, Saint-Étienne-du-Vigan in the east and southeast, Naussac-Fontanes in the south and southwest and Saint Bonnet-Laval in the west.
