Fay-sur-Lignon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mazet-Saint-Voy in the north and northeast, Les Vastres in the east, Saint-Clément in the southeast, Chaudeyrolles in the south, Saint-Front in the west and southwest and Champclause in the northwest.
