Montusclat ( Occitan identical) is a French municipality with 138 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Le Puy-en-Velay and the canton of Mézenc (until 2015: canton of Saint-Julien-Chapteuil ).

Montusclat is located about 18 kilometers east-northeast of Le Puy-en-Velay in the Velay landscape . Montusclat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Julien-Chapteuil in the north and west, Champclause in the north and east and Saint-Front in the south.
