Chadrac is a banlieue of Le Puy-en-Velay and is located on the Borne River , a tributary of the Loire . Chadrac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Polignac in the north and west, Le Monteil in the north and east, Brives-Charensac in the south-east, Le Puy-en-Velay in the south and south-west and Aiguilhe in the west and south-west.

The national route 88 runs through the municipality .
