The Borne is a river in France that runs in the Haute-Loire department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises under the name Borne Occidentale near Sembadel-Gare , in the municipality of Sembadel , in the Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park . From the confluence with its left tributary Borne Orientale , it is simply called Borne, generally drains in a south-easterly direction and after 48 kilometers flows into the Loire as a left tributary at Le Puy-en-Velay .
