Chaspinhac is a French municipality with 845 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Le Puy-en-Velay and the canton Le Puy-en-Velay-2 (until 2015: canton Le Puy-en-Velay-Nord ).

geography

Chaspinhac is located about six kilometers northeast of Le Puy-en-Velay on the Sumène River , which flows into the Loire here , in the heart of the Velay . Chaspinhac is surrounded by the neighboring communities Lavoûte-sur-Loire in the north and north-west, Malrevers in the east, Blavozy in the south-east, Saint-Germain-Laprade in the south, Le Monteil in the south-west and Polignac in the west and south-west. In the municipality, the Mont Serre rises at 914 meters.

history

In 1866, the previously independent municipality of Saint-Quentin was incorporated. In the meantime, the community was called Saint-Quentin-Chaspinhac .
