The lignon in La Souche |
The Lignon is a river in France that runs in the Ardèche department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It has its source in the Cevennes , near the La Croix de Bauzon ski station , in the municipality of La Souche , in the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park . The Lignon initially drains to the east, then turns to the northeast, flows through narrow, volcanically shaped basalt gorges at Jaujac and flows into the Ardèche after 21 kilometers just above Pont-de-Labeaume as a right tributary .
Not to be confused with the two rivers of the same name, Lignon du Forez and Lignon du Velay , which flow into the Loire!
