TV8 is an Italian entertainment channel.

history

The station was founded on April 2, 1984 as video music by Pier Luigi Stefani and Marialina Marcucci. On June 1, 1996 they started again as TMC 2, but were closed on May 1, 2001 after MTV Italy took over its frequencies. Later, on December 12, 2006, a new channel replaced the discontinued TMC 2 and became Sky Show. The station closed on April 21, 2009 when Sky Vivo restarted as Sky Uno. In 2015, the former Sky Show was revived as MTV.it with the help of Ernesto Mauri. On February 18, 2016, the channel was renamed TV8.

owner

Until 2013 Telecom Italia Media owned the channel with 51%. From 2013 to August 1, 2015 Viacom owned 100% of the station. On August 1, 2015 Viacom sold the channel MTV Italia to Sky Italia. Viacom remained active in the Italian market with the channels MTV Music Italia (also on DVB-T), MTV Next, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and Nick Jr.
