history

The TV Brombach was founded on May 18th, 1882 in the Loerrach inn "Zum Wilden Mann". In the following year the association already had 18 active and 49 passive members and charged a monthly fee of 20 pfennigs. Due to the lack of sports facilities, the club had to practice in the "Wilder Mann" in winter, as outdoor sports were no longer possible due to the weather. The first sports hall was built independently from 1903 to 1905.

Due to the First World War, the activities of the association had to be stopped during 1915-1919 due to drafted members. The association was dissolved in January 1936 as a result of the Nazi era and the associated Gleichschaltungsgesetz . Due to the French occupation, sports activities could not be restored after the war due to a ban. In the end, however, in 1946 a permit for a sports club was obtained, so that the TV Brombach, the FV Brombach and the workers gymnastics club Brombach-Hauingen were jointly registered as an all-sports club "Sportfreunde".

After the ban on founding gymnastics associations was lifted, the old association law was restored on December 29, 1949.
