Valerian Feodorovich Pereversev

Valerian Fyodorovich Pereverzev ( Russian Валерьян Фёдорович Переверзев ; born October 5 . Jul / 17 October 1882 greg. In Bobrow ; d. 5. May 1968 in Moscow ) was a Soviet literary scholars . From 1921 he was a professor at Moscow State University .

From 1901 to 1905 Pereversev studied physics and mathematics at the University of Kharkov , but was expelled from the university because of his participation in revolutionary activities and exiled to the Siberian village of Narym . In 1911 he returned to Moscow and worked as a teacher and scholar after the October Revolution of 1917. He was editor of the first three editions of the Literary Encyclopedia ( Литературная энциклопедия ), from 1928 to 1930 also professor at the Institute of the Red Professorship . His most important works dealt with Gogol , Dostoyevsky and Goncharov .
