The TX Logistik AG (TXL) is a company founded in 1999 railway transport companies in Bad Honnef based in Troisdorf, which the Italian state railway Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane belongs FS. There are 100 percent subsidiaries in Austria, Sweden, Denmark and Switzerland. The company owns a 15 percent share in the container service provider boxXpress.de . The company is now one of the largest for rail freight transport in Europe.

The company offers the full range of rail freight transport, including container transport and combined transport. The most important transport routes are from the ports of Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam and Antwerp to southern Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Italy. One of the central transshipment points is the terminal in Herne-Wanne-Eickel .

With around 80 locomotives and 1,150 wagons, the company runs an average of 385 block trains per week in eleven European countries. With around 460 employees, it generated sales of 250 million euros in 2017.

history

In 1999 the partners Frank O. Blochmann, Burkhard Bräkling, Werner Nies, Kurt Pelster and Raimund Stüer founded TX Logistik AG. In 2003, the first cross-border transports to Italy and the Netherlands were set up and subsidiaries were founded in Austria and Switzerland. In addition, there was a cooperation with the Italian state railway FS, which also took over a share of 15 percent of the company's capital. In 2004 a subsidiary was founded in Sweden and the first transit traffic through Switzerland started. A year later, Trenitalia took over the majority of the company with a 51 percent stake, which expanded the transports from Northern and Central Europe to Italy. The remaining 49 percent of the shares were taken over by the Italian State Railways in early 2011 from the founding owners. In April 2015, TX Logistik relocated its headquarters from Bad Honnef to the Troisdorf district of Spich ( Airport Gewerbepark Junkersring ).

In October 2015, the company's licenses in Sweden, Denmark and Norway were revoked due to security deficiencies. From December 22nd, 2017 TX Logistik will be able to drive in Sweden again. TX Logistik has been waiting for a new driving license for Denmark and Norway since 2015.

Nowadays, TX Logistik AG has the following 100 percent subsidiaries in order to better participate in the international rail freight transport market:

The company undertakes block train transports in Germany, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Romania and Hungary, in which an average of 7.2 billion tonne-kilometers are transported every year. TX Logistik also has 1150 freight cars.

TX Logistik currently uses around 80 electric locomotives. For the most part, locomotives of the 185 and 193 series are used, some of which are privately owned by the company and some are owned by the leasing company Mitsui Rail Capital Europe (MRCE), Railpool and Alpha Trains (formerly Angel Trains ). Rented locomotives of the types Siemens ES64U2 , Siemens ES64F4 from MRCE are also used, as are the Vectrons used , which are rented from Alpha Trains, MRCE and European Locomotive Leasing (ELL).

In December 2017, the company signed a contract with Bombardier for the delivery of 40 class 188 locomotives . The vehicles will be delivered in summer 2019. Bombardier will take over preventive maintenance and repairs for the locomotives until 2034.

Many of the locomotives used have a special and very eye-catching color scheme. Each of these colors advertises the company TX Logistik.
