Ta'al ( Hebrew תַּעַ"ל), Acronym for Tnu'a Aravit LeHithadshut (Hebrew: תְּנוּעָה עֲרָבִית לְהִתְחַדְּשׁוּת, Arabic الحركة العربية للتغيير, DMG al-ḥaraka al-ʿarabiyya li-t-taġyīr , German : Arab Movement for Renewal), is an Arab party in Israel led by Ahmad Tibi .
history
Ta'al was founded in 1996 by Ahmad Tibi and some colleagues. In the Knesset election in the same year, the party ran under the name of the Arab Union (Ha-Ichud HaAravi), but received only 0.1% of the vote. In the run-up to the 1999 Knesset election, the party changed its name and Tibi ran on a joint list with Balad . In 2003 Ta'al ran together with Chadasch and in the following elections in 2006, 2009 and 2013 in an alliance with Ra'am . Ta'al was part of the United List party coalition from 2015 to 2019 , which won 13 seats in the 2015 Knesset election . In addition to Ahmad Tibi, Osama Saadi , a second member of the Knesset, moved into the Knesset for the first time in 2015 , but left it again in September 2017 due to a ratation agreement within the United List. In the 2019 Knesset election , Ta'al ran along with Chadasch, Ra'am and Balad.
