Tabubil is a town in North Fly District ( Papua New Guinea ). With 13,500 inhabitants it is just outside the provincial capital Daru , the largest settlement in the Western Province .

The center of the island New Guinea about 20 km east of the border with the Indonesian part of the island located Tabubil is a mining town a planned city in the jungle , the mining companies for the nearby gold and copper mine Ok Tedi the Ok Tedi Mining Limited was created.

The annual rainfall in Tabubil averages 8000 mm.
