Tachibana Zuicho

Tachibana Zuichō ( Japanese 橘 瑞超 , Tachibana Zuichō ; born January 7, 1890 in Kabayaki-chō (today: Naka-ku) , Nagoya ; † November 4, 1968 ) was a Japanese explorer of Central Asia and an officer in the Imperial Japanese Navy . He took part in three expeditions to Central Asia between 1902 and 1910, all of which were financed by Count Ōtani . He traveled as a priest of the Buddhist Jōdo Shinshū school and was suspicious of the British and Russian secret services.
