Tadeusz (Thadée) Nowicki (* 1958 ) is a Polish entrepreneur, founder and CEO of the ERGIS Group , a Polish-German plastics processing company.

Life

After graduating from the K. Gottwald Oberschule (today's S. Staszic Oberschule) in Warsaw in 1977 , he began studying at the Warsaw University of Technology , where he did a master's degree in materials science. He was one of the founders and first vice-chair of the Independent Students' Union ( NZS ) at the Warsaw University of Technology. In 1981, following the imposition of martial law by General Jaruzelski , he was for this commitment until 17 July 1982 in Białołęka interned. In March 1983 he defended the master's thesis written during internment and, thanks to the support of the French committee of intellectuals "Le Goff", after the end of martial law, he received permission to go to France to study for a doctorate at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Mines in Saint Etienne .

Tadeusz Nowicki began his professional career in 1985 in the French Ministry of Industry. 

Together with JM Penisson and M. Biscondi he was the author of an experiment which made it possible to directly observe the atomic positions in the grain boundaries in the presence of foreign atoms using a high-resolution transmission electron microscope.

In 1989 he started at Comptoir Lyon Alemand Louyot, the leading French company in precious metals processing, as head of the metallurgy research department. After the merger with the American group Engelhard Metals, he became technical director of the platinum division of Engelhard-Clal with responsibility for technical matters of the factories in Paris, London and Amsterdam. 

In January 1998 he began to get involved in the rebuilding of industry in Poland and through eight mergers and acquisitions he founded the ERGIS Group, which has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2006. Together with Marek Górski and Jacek Korpała, he carried out the management buy-out and the takeover of MKF-Folien GmbH in Berlin and Schimanski GmbH near Hamburg, which became part of the ERGIS group.

Tadeusz Nowicki inspired and participated in the introduction of a new technology for nano-layer stretch films.

Since 2007 he has been chairman of the Polish Association of Plastics Processors (PZPTS / PUPC) and a member of the Polish Confederation Lewiatan , the main organization of Polish employers.
