Tadeusz Trepkowski
Tadeusz Trepkowski (born January 1, 1914 in Warsaw ; † December 30, 1954 there ) was a Polish graphic artist and co-founder of the Polish School of Poster Art .
He was self-taught and only attended the Warsaw School of Applied Arts for a few months.
He created his first poster at the age of 16. In 1933 he received a prize in the poster competition of the Postsparkasse PKO, and in 1935 in the competition advertised by the Tychy Brewery . In 1937 his poster "Caution!" Was awarded a Grand Prix at the international poster exhibition in Paris .
Trepkowski's posters were characterized by the extreme scarcity of the means of expression used and clear symbolism, he restricted the text to an absolutely necessary minimum.
He died unexpectedly of a heart attack at the age of 40.
