Tadjou Salou (born December 24, 1974 in Lomé ; † April 2, 2007 ibid) was a Togolese football player and the younger brother of Bachirou Salou .

Career

Salou began his career in the early 1990s with the Togolese club Association sportive Armée de Dieu . In 1992 he moved to Club Africain Tunis , with which he became Tunisian champion and cup winner in 1992. In 1995 he won the Arab Cup Winners' Cup with the team. In 1996 he moved to Servette Geneva , with whom he became Swiss champion in 1999 . Between 2001 and 2004 he played for Geneva city ​​rivals Étoile Carouge . For the 2004/05 season he moved back to his home country, to AS Douanes de Lomé . In 2006, he retired from professional football as he was already struggling with a serious illness. He finally died of this on April 2, 2007 in his hometown of Lomé.

National team

With the Togolese national soccer team he took part in an African championship in 1998 , 2000 and 2002 . He was also the captain of the Togolese national football team for some time , but was not included in the 2006 World Cup squad by coach Otto Pfister .
