Organ Donation Day

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Day of Organ Donation is a German action , which takes place in June since 1983, every year on the first Saturday.

Self-help associations such as the AHG self-help, patient associations on the subject of transplantation, such as the Federal Association of Organ Transplants, the Federal Association of Kidneys, the Liver Transplanted Germany eV, as well as the German Organ Transplantation Foundation , the Federal Center for Health Education , the German Transplantation Society and the Foundation About Life clarify this day about organ donation / organ transplantation and thus draw attention to the topic of organ donation. On the day of organ donation, all organ donors should also be thanked. The television presenter Dennis Wilms has moderated the event for several years.

Central components of the event are the ecumenical worship service and the "Gift Years" campaign.
