Days of Early Music Regensburg

The Days of Early Music Regensburg are an annual music festival. They combine historical performance practice with concerts in historical rooms of the city of Regensburg and are among the world's most important festivals for early music .

The Germanist Stephan Schmid and the oboist Ludwig Hartmann, both graduates of the Regensburger Domspatzen music high school, founded PRO MUSICA ANTIQUA and brought the festival to life in 1984. Since then, the TAM have taken place every year at Whitsun. Since then, a large number of internationally renowned ensembles and soloists of instrumental and vocal music from the Regensburg music world have been presented at the historical venues.

The reputation of the festival has now penetrated far beyond the walls of the city of Regensburg, u. a. through numerous radio productions from various broadcasters.

Stephan Schmid and Ludwig Hartmann were awarded the Culture Prize of the City of Regensburg on behalf of the 2009 festival .
