The Tahkout Manufacturing Company Sàrl (short TMC ) is an Algerian automobile manufacturer based in Tiaret . It was created in cooperation between the Algerian dealer network Cima Motors and the South Korean vehicle manufacturer Hyundai .

Hyundai trucks and buses, on the other hand, are manufactured in Algeria by Global Motors Industries .

history

The first vehicle was produced on November 1, 2016.

At the end of 2016, the plant employed around 500 people. The local production share should be around 15% at the beginning.

The vehicles are assembled using the SKD method. Allegations of fraud raised in social media were cleared up during a visit by a government delegation. More than 40,000 vehicles were produced by November 2017.

Since May 2018, TMC has been allowed by Hyundai to export the vehicles assembled in Algeria to four other countries.

Another production line for Suzuki vehicles was planned in Saida for mid-2018, but the opening of this line was initially postponed in July 2018.

Models

In addition to the first vehicle to leave the assembly line - a Hyundai Tucson - the Grand i10 , Accent , Elantra , Creta and Santa Fe passenger car models as well as the Hyundai H1 and H100 commercial vehicles will be produced. The i30 has also been assembled since 2018 .

The Alto and Baleno models are to be manufactured in the second plant .
