The Hyundai i30 (PD) is the third generation of the Hyundai i30 car model from the Korean car manufacturer Hyundai Motor Company , which was presented to the public in autumn 2016 and has been on sale since January 2017. The third generation of the Kia Ceed presented in spring 2018 uses the same platform. In some markets, the vehicle is also sold as the Hyundai Elantra GT .

history

The five-door hatchback version was presented at the Paris Motor Show in September 2016 and has been available from German dealerships since January 28, 2017 at prices starting at 17,450 euros. The model replaces the previous i30 (GD) built since October 2011 .

The station wagon version of the i30 was presented at the 87th Geneva Motor Show in March 2017 and hit dealers in July 2017. The surcharge compared to the hatchback is 1,000 euros.

For the first time, the i30 is also available as a sedan with a hatchback . This 4.45 meter long variant was presented on July 13, 2017 and went on sale in December 2017. On the drive side, only the two T-GDI petrol engines are available.

Also on July 13, 2017, Hyundai presented the i30 N, a sports version of the compact car. This had its public premiere at the IAA in September 2017 in Frankfurt am Main and came to the dealers on November 4, 2017. The i30 N is powered by a turbocharged two-liter gasoline engine with an output of between 184 kW (250 hp) and 202 kW (275 hp). A touring car version was developed from the i30 N. For the 2020 model year, the basic version of the i30 N with 184 kW (250 PS) was removed from the model range.

At the Paris Motor Show in October 2018, Hyundai also presented the i30 N in the fastback version. The i30 N Option show car , which has 25 accessories with which an i30 N could be equipped, was also presented there. For the 2019 model year, the hatchback and station wagon versions were given a slight facelift, with the front apron identical to that of the sedan (“Fastback”) being installed from the "Select" equipment line onwards. All i30s from this model year also comply with the Euro 6d-Temp emissions standard. In addition, the diesels get an SCR catalytic converter with urea injection and the gasoline direct injection units have a gasoline particle filter .

As part of the IAA in September 2019, Hyundai presented the i30 N Project C special model, limited to 600 units . In addition to being lowered by 6 mm compared to the production model, the vehicle weight has been reduced by 50 kg, which is mainly achieved through the use of carbon fiber laminate and new rims. On the drive side, the 202 kW (275 hp) two-liter gasoline engine remains.

In February 2020, Hyundai presented a revised version of the i30.

The i30 is built in the Czech Hyundai plant in Nošovice .
