The Hyundai Aero City or Hyundai Super Aero City and Hyundai New Super Aero City is a city bus and intercity bus that the Hyundai Motor Company has been producing since 1991 as the successor to the Hyundai RB series. Originally it was a badge engineering model of the Mitsubishi Fuso Aero Star . In 1994 the series was revised for the first time, and Hyundai introduced its own elements.
Model history
Hyundai has been working with Mitsubishi Fuso since the 1970s and manufactured numerous Mitsubishi Fuso products in South Korea with identical design and their own brand emblem. The Mitsubishi Fuso Aero Star was initially built by Hyundai as the Aero City. In the mid-1990s, Hyundai began to separate from Mitsubishi Fuso in the commercial vehicle sector. Therefore, the Aero City also received a revision with numerous components from Hyundai. Own motors were also used, or motors built under license from Mitsubishi Fuso. Another facelift of the series with a modified front took place in 2001. In addition, an additional model, the Super Aero City, was introduced specifically as an intercity bus variant. Another revision took place in 2004, the Super Aero City was now also available with a longer wheelbase, and a low-floor technology was introduced to lower the bus to the sidewalk to give wheelchair users easy access. At the same time since in addition to the Mitsubishi fuso and Hyundai transmissions and Allison transmission - and ZF Friedrichshafen - automatic transmission available. After a further revision and presentation of a fuel cell omnibus based on the Super Aero City, it has since been marketed as the New Super Aero City .
