Model history

The New Power Truck appeared in June 2004 as a facelift model of the Super Truck. Thus it was still available with the drive formulas 4x2, 6x4 and 10x4 as a tractor unit , chassis for bodies and tipper vehicle. The common rail injection diesel engine Hyundai Powertec with 440 hp at 1800 rpm continued to drive . now with Euro 3 emissions standard . In addition to the well-known 6-speed manual transmission , there was now also a 10- and 16-speed manual transmission as well as the well-known 12- speed ZF Astronic automatic transmission . Externally, the design was slightly revised, while the interior remained the same. A double-acting parking brake and an electronic immobilizer were new .

In August 2005 improvements were made in the interior with newer, higher quality rubber flooring and larger and more flexible sun visors. The fabric-leather seat and duvet covers, which make you sweat in summer, have been replaced by new leather covers.

As a reaction to the withdrawal of the company subsidiary Kia Motors from the commercial vehicle sector, a cheaper variant with the Hyundai direct injection Q-DOC diesel engine with 290 hp and Euro 3 emissions standard was introduced.

With the introduction of the Hyundai Trago , production of all variants was discontinued in November 2006 with the exception of the 4x2 and 6x4 models between 8 and 16 tons. In 2007, the New Power Truck received new headlights, a larger air tank for the brake system and an improved battery holder and cover. The steering wheel and the instrument panel have been installed from the Trago since 2008, and, as with this one, with digital displays since 2011. At the same time, a USB connection and a 12 V socket have been built into the dashboard as standard.
