The Hyundai Trago ( Korean 현대 트라고) is a truck series of the Hyundai Motor Company which was produced between 2006 and 2013. They are available as a truck , tipper truck and tractor unit . The Trago replaced the Hyundai New Power Truck , but it was developed based on this model. In South Korea itself, like its predecessor, it is called the Hyundai New Power Truck. As a tractor and tipper, the Trago will gradually be replaced by the Hyundai Xcient from 2013 . In the long term, the other models are also to be replaced by copies derived from the Xcient.

Model history

Most Hyundai heavy truck models have a special Hyundai truck emblem , but the Trago has a large Hyundai logo on the front and Trago on the back. In Asia , in the Pacific countries, in the Middle East , in Africa and in South America, where the model is marketed as Trago, the main competitor is in addition to competitors known in Europe such as Volvo FM , Scania R-Series , Mercedes-Benz Actros , MAN TGA and Iveco Stralis from Daewoo Novus . On the home market, the Trago was offered as a New Power Truck in the standard Pro version with special noise protection technology for city centers and as gold for the usual fleet business and with the higher engine variants.

The tractor unit is available with the drive formula 6 × 2 with 440 HP and 6 × 4 with 380/410/440 HP. The standard freight truck or articulated train is available in an 8 × 4 formula with a total weight of 19 or 19.5 tons and as a 10 × 4 with a total weight of 25 tons. The tipper always has an 8 × 4 drive formula with a total weight of 24 or 25.5 tons. In the 25.5 ton variant, the 460 hp engine variant is used exclusively. A ZF Friedrichshafen 16-speed manual transmission is available for all versions from 410 hp . A ZF 10-speed manual transmission for the 380 hp engine variant.

Automatic transmissions from Allison Transmission are optionally available for the Bering Motors variants in North America .
