The Hyundai H-1 is a panel van and minibus of the Hyundai car brand that has been built since mid-1997.

The second generation has been on the market since the beginning of 2008. In the People's Republic of China, however, the first generation continues to be built under license by Anhui Jianghuai Automobile under the name JAC M1 . The current model is produced as the JAC M2 .

The first H-1 was based on the Mitsubishi L400 . The van derived from the H-1 was called the Hyundai Starex . This had either seven or nine seats. The models H-1 and Starex were offered in Germany from autumn 1997. It was initially powered by a 2.5 L Mitsubishi 4D56 turbo diesel engine with originally 59 kW (80 hp). A version with 73 kW (99 PS) followed in 1999. A 2.4-liter petrol engine with 82 kW (112 hp) was also available. The curb weight is given as 1690–2170 kg.

As part of a facelift, the self-developed 2.5-liter diesel engine with 103 kW (140 PS) was introduced at the beginning of 2003 .

The loading volume of the H-1 was 5.71 m³, the payload was 1,240 kg. The tailgate could be opened upwards like a station wagon, which made loading easy. A version with a two-part wing door was also available.

The standard equipment of the H-1 included electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, a heated rear window, central locking, electric windows, power steering and adjustable lumbar support for the driver's seat as well as a driver's airbag and ABS. In contrast to the H-1, the Starex had higher quality interior materials.

While all-wheel drive was available in other European countries such as Austria and Switzerland, it was not officially offered in Germany.

In addition, the pick-up Hyundai Libero based on the H-1 was offered in some European countries from the beginning of 2000 .

The current generation was introduced in February 2008. It is available as H-1 Travel ( minibus ) and H-1 Cargo ( box van ). The curb weight is given as 2250–2323 kg.

As in the first generation, the H-1 is available both with side-opening wing doors and with a tailgate that swings up. The H-1 Cargo has a payload of 987 kg to 1111 kg. Initially, which was 2.5-L - CRDi diesel engine is only 125 kW (170 hp), coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission, whereby the accelerated s H-1 in 14.5 0 km to 100 / h and reached a top speed of 180 km / h.

A version of this engine with 85 kW (116 hp) and a standard consumption of 7.5 l diesel has also been available since April 2011. The van was extensively revised in summer 2018.

The model has been marketed by Dodge in Mexico as the Dodge H100 Van / Wagon since the end of 2007 .
