The Hyundai i30 is a compact class passenger car series from the South Korean automobile manufacturer Hyundai Motor Company . The model has been manufactured in the Ulsan plant in South Korea since March 2007 . At the same time, in November 2008, production of the units destined for Europe and Africa began in the Czech plant near Nošovice .

With the i30, Hyundai replaced the Hyundai Avante in some countries . In other countries, however, it replaced the Hyundai Elantra . For the home market of South Korea and some export markets, Hyundai kept the name of the respective predecessor.

In March 2012, the second generation of the i30 came onto the market, initially only as a five-door hatchback sedan. The station wagon followed in summer 2012. As of February 2013, the i30 range was expanded to include a three-door coupé.

The third generation has been available from dealers as a hatchback version since January 2017. The station wagon followed in July 2017. In December 2017, the Fastback was also the first sedan based on the i30 on the market.

For the 2019 model year (from September 2018) the i30 will receive a small revision. All models now meet the Euro 6d-TEMP emissions standard. The diesel engines are equipped with an SCR catalytic converter with Adblue injection, while the direct-injection petrol engines have a gasoline particle filter. The 5 "display is no longer available in the interior; the i30 now has the 8" display as standard, still with an optional navigation function. On the outside, the 2019 model year differs from its predecessor in the use of the front apron, which was previously reserved for the Fastback. The equipment lines are complemented by the "N-Line", which optically follows the sporty N models.
