Takae Masumo

Takae Masumo ( Japanese 増 茂 孝 枝 , Masumo Takae ; born March 8, 1976 in Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese badminton player .

Career

Masumo attended Kamuikotan Elementary and Middle School in Asahikawa . At this time she had her first successes in 1989 when she won the middle school championships in doubles and the junior championships in singles. In 1990 she won both doubles. While attending Asahikawa Commercial High School, she won the 1992 Badminton High School Doubles Championships.

After finishing school, she joined the Sanyo company on April 1, 1994 and played for their factory team. At that time she won the adult championships in singles in 1995, in doubles from 1996-1998, and in 1999 came third. At the All-Japan Championships she reached third place in doubles in 1996/1998 and first place in doubles with Chikako Nakayama in 1997/1999.

In 1999 she won the Scottish Open and in 1999 the Spanish International.

After retiring from the sport, she became the team's manager ( taken over by Panasonic in 2011 together with San'yō Denki ).
