The Takahe nunatak is a 1100 m high nunatak on the Antarctic Ross Island . It is the more northerly of two nunatakkers 500 m apart in the group of the Kea-Nunatakker and rises 5.5 km north-northeast of the summit of Mount Bird and immediately southwest of the Kakapo-Nunatak .
The New Zealand Geographic Board named the Nunatak in 2000 after the Takahe , the New Zealand purple chicken.
