Takasago Kōryō Kōgyō KK ( Japanese 高 砂 香料 工業 株式会社 , ~ Kabushiki-gaisha , German "Takasago fragrance production", English Takasago International Corporation ) is a Japanese specialty chemicals company based in Tokyo . It is one of the world's largest manufacturers of aromas , flavors, fragrances and other fine chemicals for food, beverages, cosmetics, personal care and household.
Founded in 1920, the company is now listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. In the 2015 financial year, it had 25 production sites and achieved an annual turnover of 1.1 billion euros with over 3,000 employees .
The former research director of Takasago, Ryōji Noyori , received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2001 . Takasago is a sponsor of the Ryōji Noyori Prize .
