After a sleepy night, Erik, a 30-year-old Estonian construction worker, receives surprising news: his ex Monika, whom he has not seen for six months, is in labor. In the delivery room she reveals to him that she is not ready to be a mother and that she wants to put the little girl up for adoption. Erik's life changes dramatically. He has to choose.
