Takeda Nobuyoshi ( Japanese 武田 信義 ; * August 15, 1128 , † August 7, 1186 ) was daimyo towards the end of the Heian period and at the beginning of the Kamakura period . He was instrumental in the establishment of the first Shogunate in Japan on the part of the later Shogun Minamoto Yoritomo . The Minamoto are also the main house (ancestral house) of the Takeda, he is the nephew of the first Shogun. He was the son of Minamoto Kiyomitsu ( 源 清 光 ) Due to his personal involvement in the war against the Taira (Genpei War), in which he commanded a very large troop contingent, the first shogunate came about, making him one of the most important vassals of the first shogun. As a result, he was allocated lands for administration and thus founded one of the strongest clans in the entire Japanese Middle Ages, from the Kamakura period to the end of the Sengoku period . He is famous for having built a military school and an archery school, which had great influence beyond his lifetime. His grave is in Ganjō-ji ( 願 成 寺 ) in Nirasaki in what is now Yamanashi Prefecture .
