Takekuni Hirayoshi
Takekuni Hirayoshi ( Japanese 平 吉 毅 州 , Hirayoshi Takekuni ; born July 10, 1936 in Kobe , Hyogo Prefecture ; † May 28, 1998 ) was a Japanese composer of classical music .
In 1961 Hirayoshi graduated from the National University of Fine Arts and Music Tokyo (Geidai) with a degree in composition , and in 1967 he completed the graduate course there. Hasegawa Yoshio and Ikuma (?) ( 伊 熊 良 穂 ) were among his teachers . In 1969 he won the Odaka Music Prize ( 尾 高 賞 ). He was then a lecturer at the Geidai, then a professor at the Tōhō Conservatory and later at the Okinawa Prefecture School of Art (Okinawa Kenritsu Geijutsu Daigaku). He is best known for his choir pieces .
He was married and had a son and a daughter.
