Tact (riding)

balance |
Tact is the spatial and temporal uniformity of all steps, steps and jumps. The rhythm must be given and maintained in all tempos - work pace , reinforcement and assembly. The beat is the first point on the training scale . The other points on the training scale are based on the clock. In order to be able to judge the rhythm of a horse, one needs a basic knowledge of the basic gaits of the horse.
With a horse walking in rhythm, the equilibrium is not only maintained in a straight line, but also in all transitions and turns.
The rhythm must correspond to the respective pace . The walk is four-stroke, the trot is two-stroke and the canter is three-stroke.
Reaching / consolidating the beat
Training basics that are necessary for riding / driving at regular intervals include the following.
- by maintaining a certain basic pace adapted to the respective horse
- steady drift
- soulful, soft rein aids
- ride in self-holding
- smooth entry into the movement of the horse by swinging in the middle position of the pelvis
Clock error
Causes of clock errors can include the following.
- excessive hand influence ( lameness )
- too little driving help
- misunderstood forward riding (hasty movement, rhythm disturbances)
- physiologically incorrect posture of the horse (absolute straightening, rolling cure )
correction
Approaches for counteracting timing errors include the following.
- solving exercises with frequent transitions
- Checking the self-retention
- lunging
- Cavaletti work
- Jumping gymnastics, riding in the field
