Tactical approval

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A tactical approval is the approval of a motor vehicle , which is not primarily used to bring a vehicle into circulation, but primarily fulfills other purposes.

reasons

The reasons can be:

  • Achievement of a specified budget target for a regional car sales organization (for example, the registration of 1000 vehicles within a calendar or fiscal year )
  • Achieving a homologation goal for racing purposes (for example, bringing at least 200 vehicles of one type onto the market before it is approved for a specific racing or rally series without a corresponding market demand )
  • Reaching a higher discount class ( e.g. discount scales 5% from 5 vehicles: 8% from 50 vehicles, 10% from 200 vehicles)
  • Reaching another marketing goal (for example, when measuring market shares by manufacturer or importer )
  • The registration of a vehicle before a certain end date, for example at the turn of the year, so that it can still be registered before, for example, stricter emissions regulations would completely prevent registration in the future
  • Gray imports of vehicles that were initially registered abroad in order to then find a buyer abroad as cheaper used vehicles (EU gray imports outside the regular commercial distribution channels)
  • Approval to a known person to increase the selling price for lovers . Examples are known from football circles, where a footballer is said to have owned 20 or more cars in a short time, advertised from prominent previous ownership .

Mark

A characteristic of tactical approval is regularly that vehicles are usually traded as used vehicles at lower prices, which have practically not yet been driven and have mileage under 10 or 20 km because they were only moved in the yard of a dealer.

Advantages and disadvantages

The buyer has the advantage of the lower purchase price.

For the dealer , tactical approval is usually the disadvantage of the loss of sales , because a formally used vehicle can often only achieve a significantly lower sales price .
