Kikuoka learned to play football in the university team of Hōsei University . He signed his first contract with Mito HollyHock in 2008 . The club played in the second highest league in the country, the J2 League . For the club, he completed 68 league games. In 2010 he moved to league rivals Tokyo Verdy .
