Takuto Iguchi ( Japanese 井口 卓 人 , Iguchi Takuto ; born February 13, 1988 in Fukuoka Prefecture ) is a Japanese racing driver .

Career

Iguchi began his motorsport career in karting , in which he was active until 2005. Among other things, he finished third in the Asia-Pacific ICA Championship in 2005 . In 2006 he switched to formula racing . He competed in the Japanese Formula Challenge for two years . After finishing his first season in tenth, he finished sixth overall with a win in 2007. In 2007 Iguchi switched to TOM’S in the Japanese Formula 3 championship . With three wins he finished third in the championship behind his team mates Carlo van Dam and Keisuke Kunimoto . Iguchi also made his debut in GT racing and finished 32nd in the GT300 ranking of the Super GT . In 2008 Iguchi stayed with TOM'S and completed his second season in the Japanese Formula 3 championship. He won five races and, along with his teammate Marcus Ericsson, was the driver with the most wins. At the end of the season he had to admit defeat only Ericsson with 103 to 112 points and was runner-up. Iguchi finished the Macau Grand Prix in sixth place this season, making him the best Asian driver in the race. In addition, he continued his involvement in the Super GT and finished the championship in 10th place in the GT300 classification.

In 2010 Iguchi switched to Deliziefollie / Cerumo-Inging in the Nippon formula . In his debut season, with a sixth place as the best result, he managed to get into the points in just one race. He finished the season in 13th. In addition, he achieved his first victory in the GT300 classification in the Super GT, which he finished in fifth place. In 2011 Iguchi finished seventh in the Super GT. In 2011 he also took part in a Formula Nippon race as a representative for André Lotterer for TOM'S.
