The Takydromus dorsalis is an animal art from the genus of the fast-running lizards ( Takydromus ). The lizard species is classified as Endangered on the IUCN Red List .

Occurrence and way of life

The distribution area of ​​the lizard species is limited to the Yaeyama Islands in southern Japan . Takydromus dorsalis is diurnal and lives in subtropical meadows and open forests. Young animals prefer grasslands and bushes, while adults are more likely to be found on leaves and branches. The females lay clutches of one or two eggs in spring through summer.
