The Obernberg valley crossing is a bridge in the Wipptal on the Austrian A 13 motorway above Gries am Brenner , where it crosses the entrance to the Obernberg valley with the Obernberger Seebach , which is 80 m below . It leads the Brenner Autobahn in a large curve to a wooded area above the Sill , where the Luegbrücke begins after another 300 m .

description

The 476.5 m long and 21 m wide motorway bridge has, as usual, separate directional lanes with two lanes each, a hard shoulder and an emergency path between the crash barriers and the railing.

The prestressed concrete bridge was built by Alfred Kunz & Co., Baugesellschaft together with the Felperbrücke ( ) near Steinach am Brenner , which is 5 km away and has the same dimensions except for the dimensions . World icon

It has a curve radius of 400 m and eight openings with pillar spacing of 45 + 55 + 4 × 65 + 55 + 45 m.

The superstructure consists of two parallel carriageway slabs connected in the middle, each with a single-cell, trapezoidal hollow box . The box girders are designed as continuous beams . They have a constant height of 3.50 m and are 4.00 m at the bottom and 6.28 m at the top. Its webs are 37 cm thick in the middle of the field and 60 cm thick on the pillars, and the thickness of the base plate increases from 15 cm to 50 cm. The box girders are prestressed in the longitudinal direction with D&W tendons.

The slender, rectangular pillars are arranged in pairs under the two hollow girders. They are up to 70 m high, have a 50: 1 suit and measure 4.0 m × 2.5 m at the head. They have a hollow cross-section without transverse bulkheads and are only connected to one another in the fudment with a floor slab made of reinforced concrete . Because of the difficult ground conditions, they are in shafts with a shotcrete jacket to allow subsequent readjustment of the piers.

The pillars were concreted in pairs using the sliding construction method. Subsequently, the two halves of the superstructure were built with a propeller armor. First half of it was concreted with it, then it was moved to the other side at the end of the bridge to create the second half in the opposite direction.

  2. The Felperbrücke has 7 openings of 45 + 55 + 3 × 65 + 55 + 45 m and a radius of 800 m. Because of the steep incline, it has three lanes each (without hard shoulder) and is therefore 23.70 m wide.
